FANTASTIC

Having seen Oliver a few times in the past, this was up with the best of performances. Jodie proved why she won the part of Nancy and Rowan Atkinson was brilliant (watch out for all the facial expressions). All the kids were great and Gwion was adorable as Oliver. The sets were the best I've seen for Oliver. Only one disappointment was it coming to an end! Well done to all the cast for a fantastic show!!!

GOOD START

Saw Oliver 12 January. Disappointed to see that although Jodie should have been in it she was "unwell". Many people had travelled some distance to see her so felt she had let us down. Considering it has not been open long it doesn't bode well. However Fagin and the Artful Dodger are magnificent and make up for it all. Great sets, great choreography. Sykes could have been a rounder character - can't really see why Nancy stays with him - and Oliver was a little Too Nice and was out danced and out acted by all the other boys. However - all in all - great show that will hopefully go from strength to strength

A LITTLE DISAPPOINTING. OLIVER 12/01/2009

Was really looking forward to taking my elderly mother to see this production, having watched the selection process on tv. Unfortunately Jodie who we very much wanted to see, and any one of the recognizable Oliver's were not playing on Monday, not sure of reason. Rowan Atkinson was brilliant. Nancy had a wonderful powerful voice and Dodger [Robert Madge] were both superb. The children in the workhouse all looked to clean and Oliver himself too clean and well brought up for a workhouse child. The final scene was also over and done with far to quickley. Over all my mum enjoyed her day out in London, made my travelling from Northern Ireland worth while.

DISAPPOINTED

We booked our tickets well in advance- months - to especially see Jodie. She did not appear according to Box Office due to medical reasons. She appeared on Loose Women the previous day and also sung on Radio 2 the following day, on the Elaine Paige show. Many other people were very disappointed and we were very cross that she appeared on the these programmes if she was supposed to be ill. maur_nicoll@hotmail.com

IT DEPENDS WHERE YOU SIT....

+ points - excellent set and Nancy was great. Fagin was funny but a bit hammy - Dodger was very good as were the supporting cast. - points - don't sit in the Balcony - we were right near the front and still struggled to see due to people moving around in the front row. Felt like chucking one kid into the stalls! As per previous comments - drinks etc are way over-priced.

WHERE WAS JODIE

Went to see Oliver Saturday 29/8/09 great show but was bitterly disappointed Jodie Prenger did not play Nancy and there was no reference to why she didnt!!Also the theatre badly needs air conditioning we were given paper fans as it was so hot and humid.

BRILLIANT BUT WHY THE SMUTTY BITS?

My daughter & I saw the matinee on 14th October and thoroughly enjoyed the show. The sets were amazing, Nancy (Jodie Prenger) & Fagin were great and the kids fabulous. However, there was absolutely no need for the smutty bits e.g. woman with massive breasts practically falling out and other smutty references. This is a family show and should be kept that way. We were moved to the stalls from the balcony and the seats were very low and cramped but the show was so entertaing we forgot about it.
